Your letter of support:

Dear Ms. Michaela Mitchell:

As a resident of western North Carolina, I am writing to show my support for a new emergency room proposed by Mission Hospital in Weaverville, NC.

Access to high-quality emergency care is of the utmost importance not only to the residents of Buncombe County, but neighboring rural counties as well.  I am pleased that Mission Hospital is committed to expanding its emergency services beyond the main hospital location and I support this proposal.

(Add in personal information about why you support below).

I believe this proposed facility will provide access to leading-edge emergency services closer to home.   North Buncombe and Madison counties are rural areas, with many residents living off of mountainous and winding roads.  Residents of this area must travel long distances into the city center of Asheville to receive care at Mission Hospital’s main emergency department.

The growing traffic congestion in and around Asheville already impacts residents’ ability to access emergency care promptly and is only getting worse.  The proposed free-standing emergency room will provide more timely access to life-saving care for the more rural areas to the north of Asheville.

I urge you to approve the proposed free-standing emergency room in the growing north Buncombe area. This project, once approved, will enhance timely access to high-quality emergency care when and where the community needs it most.
